I love reading, Christian, Biographies, Autobiographies, Cookbooks, Fiction, Historical Fiction, History, Memoir, Mystery, Romance, Suspense, Thriller, Parenting, Marriage, Christian Counseling, Health, Natural and Herbal, Childcare and Teaching, Inspirational as well as Alaskan.

I prefer a printed copy that I can hold in my hands and become old friends with, but will also accept E-books in Kindle, PDF or Nook formats.

I am a Christian and seek to glorify my Lord. As such I will not read any erotic, paranormal, vampire, or such books. I also will stop reading any book that has bad language (Cursing and taking my Lord’s name in vain.), and books with gratuitous sex. This is one reason I have chosen to be associated with the Publishing Companies and the Authors that are on my site because I feel safe recommending them to others.

New BUTTON!!

I have redesigned my blog button! The one I had before was very small and the picture was not clear and easy to read. I am much happier with this one but I'm not a professional so still may get some help from my sister who is, after her upcoming wedding in October! Until then, if you have my button on your site and would like to change it to the new one the new url should be; http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-C_B3l5fS-WM/T91iUXyvITI/AAAAAAAABKw/x7_2dtnRM_I/s240/Cabin%2BFever%2BNEW%2BReading%2B%25232.png or can be found under the new picture in the upper right hand side of my Book Blog @ http://cabinfeverreading.blogspot.com/

Thank you to each and every one of you who have supported and encouraged my efforts in launching this new project! It has surprised me in how fast it has taken off! I have had a lot of help from other book bloggers and friends who have held my hand and walked me through some scary first steps! Thank you all very much!! Thank you to my Family who were among the first to support and “Follow” my Blog! You will never know what an encouragement it was to see your faces and names there on the side of my page!

I know compared to a lot of other blogs, my #’s as far as followers who have actually joined, are not very high yet. But when I stop and realize I have only been on here 3 months and over 500 new people have visited this site and with return visits my ticker count is almost at 1,500 in such a short period of time…I know I am truly blessed!
So thank you all very much!

This book is an amazing, eye opening book about strong, simple faith in God! Being a missionary where you are. No matter how dangerous, scary or lonely it may get... God is ALWAYS there! And perfect love casts out fear!
I loved this book! It is on my "to own" list so I can have it as a new "old" friend to visit time and time again.
I highly recommend it.

Don't Read ~ Mind Reader

Mind ReaderMind Reader by Vicki Hinze
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

This book was not what I thought it was going to be. It was about a woman who supposedly "read & saw" other people's thoughts and feelings. Like a phycic. On top of which there was a lot of sexual type writing. Not sex scenes to the part I read but very expicit descriptions of how the other person looked and made them feel and what they thought. And that was more than enough description! TOO much. Then there was the problem with the language. I just can't (won't) sit and fill my mind with cursing and filth when there are far better things to read. I know from experience, because I have read them, that an author can write an incredible, intense, even frightening story, about the horrible things that happen in this world without having to sink to the worlds level to tell it. I just couldn't finish reading a book like this. No...I WOULDN'T.

5 Stars for Beyond What They See!

Beyond What They SeeBeyond What They See by Kristy Pellegrin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kristy sent this book to me through Kindle to read. I have read both of her other books and loved them, even recommending and sharing one!
It took me a bit to get going and get caught up in this book. This is so far from my normal genres, but once I got into the flow of it, this was a rather fascinating book!
There were one or two doctrinal points I wasn't 100% sure on, but all in all an awesome book.

High Regard gets 5 Stars!

A Lady of High Regard (Ladies of Liberty, #1)A Lady of High Regard by Tracie Peterson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I would say the main character in an odd mixed up way is an early version of a Christian Feminist, if there can be such a thing! LOL
She is a very independent young woman, but she has the mistaken idea that she is the only one who can understand and fix the problems that she sees around her. She doesn't trust any of the men that she loves (her Dad and life long best friend) to help her and do the honorable and right things.
She is so worried that they will take away her freedom that she continually puts herself in danger just to prove she is able to handle things herself.
Tracie is one of my favorite authors and I love the way she puts her stories together, bringing out parts and pieces of history that we might have known about the era and some of what happened (big news) but she finds, local to the area that she is writing about, details and brings it alive and closer to home. She makes her stories one on one.

Cooking the Books ~ 4 Stars!

Cooking the BooksCooking the Books by Bonnie S. Calhoun
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I like a fun mystery. Add cooking, food, & coffee to the mix and I am all over it! I enjoyed reading this book! It was a fun get away for a few hours! Different a good read.
I did have a real hard time not throwing my Kindle across the room every time Sloan said something bad about owning and running a BOOK STORE!!! Come on!! DREAM JOB!! And that old house...I would die! I was drooling over it!
I enjoyed the comedy, the reality of her being honest about her addiction to cake and coffee and her not perfect body. And I adored her Aunt!

No Redemption ~ 3 Stars

Honor RedeemedHonor Redeemed by Loree Lough
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Good writing, but I hate walking away from an unfinished book! There is such a huge build up to the point where they both reach the point of knowing they love the other and then without talking, they just walk away...It left me feeling like he felt she wasn't good enough to be around his kids because of what she had lived through. (That part made me mad.) Either he loves her or he doesn't. Fight for her or don't. Help her or don't. I felt like it was too wishy washy as far as the relationship went.
Sorry, but this book just fell apart for me.

Sons of God ~ 3 Stars

Sons of God Daughters of MenSons of God Daughters of Men by Benjamin Reynolds
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a hard book to review. There are parts of this book that I do not agree with and don't think happened but don't have "chapter and verse" to back up why I believe that way. And yet, there are some valid points made that I have never considered before. Possibilities of HOW...Greek mythology, the "gods", Great wonders that men have been unable to explain how they were built by mere humans at normal sizes, etc..
Benjamin puts an interesting spin on the possibilities of the how, what, when and why of the Sons of God the Bible mentions and yet this could also be a very dangerous road to travel for someone who is not strong in their faith. It could lead to confusion and misunderstanding of the Bible and God's way being the only way.

Exposed: Too Much Exposure ~ 2 Stars

Exposed: Inexcusable Me...Irreplaceable HimExposed: Inexcusable Me...Irreplaceable Him by Shannon M. Deitz
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This is a tough book to review for me. There were things I did and didn't like about it. This book could be very dangerous in the wrong hands. I have had some study about the spirit world. And I have had some issues while growing up as a teen and young adult that left deep scars mentally and emotionally that I have (and am still)spent years dealing with.
BUT...there was a lot of confusion to me in the book on when, where and if there ever came a point that the author came to the realization that SHE was a SINNER. That without the saving blood of Jesus Christ and him alone she would die and go to hell? Did she reach that point, ask God to forgive her of her sins and save her soul?
There was so much discussion of religion and her confusion that I was confused! It seemed like sometimes she was led by the good and sometimes the bad, sometimes she made decisions based on prayer and sometimes almost fear. (She would have something scary or creepy happen to her and then when the same person who had frightened her gave her advice or a "message" she would take it as from God and do it! "Like the guy at the first convention who admitted that he could have and wanted to hurt her but told her to write and tell her story...." She walked off with a stranger that she felt odd about and then even when she knew and he admitted that there was something wrong, she took it as a sign from God.
God is not the Author of Fear. And God does not use wicked and evil to give His message and His word to His servants.
